In vehicle-mounted equipment manufacturing, trailer production and the OEM industry, ordering a hydraulic system is not a simple purchasing transaction in which independent parts are merely listed side by side. It is the process of assembling an ecosystem of components that are tightly interconnected mechanically and hydraulically. If even one part in this ecosystem—such as a pump flange, bracket hole or valve flow rating—does not match the realities of the application, it can cause rework on assembly lines, part revisions and delivery delays. Why Is Holistic Verification Essential?

The individual quality of the components in a hydraulic kit—cylinder, pump, valve, tank, joystick and hoses—is not sufficient on its own to ensure correct system operation. What matters is their complete compatibility with the project’s geometric and mechanical limits. Orders configured without verification may create the following bottlenecks in the field:

  • The pump’s direction of rotation may be opposite to the vehicle chassis power take-off (PTO).
  • The selected cylinder stroke may be too long or too short for the body’s target lifting angle.
  • The flow produced by the pump may exceed the directional control valve’s maximum passage capacity, creating artificial back pressure and heat in the line.

3. Pump and Valve Capacity Balance

Flow balance must be established by comparing the pump displacement (cm³/rev) with the nominal flow-passage limits of the directional control valve (Tipping Valve) in L/min. The operating-pressure limits of the valve and the end-of-stroke safety elements must accommodate the system’s peak values.

4. Storage and Line Standards

The installation geometry of the oil tank—chassis-side mounting, central mounting or cradle/strap model—and its volumetric capacity must be selected according to the intensity of operation. The flow limit of the accompanying return-filter kit, 150 or 250 L/min, must be verified. Correct hose diameters conforming to SAE J514 (R2) for pressure lines and SAE 100R4 for suction lines must be added to the list.
